Take it back to the shop if you can. If not, let Canon's warranty take care of it. It was annoying, but eventually I got a copy that I was happy with.

I have the same lens and I keep having the same problem. I kept turning the camera off and back on which usually resolved it, but now that doesn't work and it's completely jammed. :(

Actually we are all in Taipei! The performance was this last weekend. The group is made up of expats and locals.

Edit: Oh, Awfully Chocolate has locations in both Taiwan and Singapore. We were at the Taiwan one.

Yeah, the FE2 has a lot of smart features. Love how it doesn't meter the first two shots of a roll so you don't try to take a shot on the film leader. The big bright viewfinders are amazing too and shame any DSLR today. You should dig it out and shoot a few rolls!

I had an FE2 many years ago and loved it. It has a nice balance between manual and semi-automatic modes. After a boat trip down the Yangzi, the electronics had corroded out, and I replaced it with an FM2, which is also a great camera. I haven't used it in years, but I really do miss its ease of use. It's funny that in the age of digital, it seems one has to pay premiums for that experience.

Anyway, I enjoy your photos of Taiwan, color and b&w.

Yeah, the majority of the history of photography was done this way. But I do feel spoiled because my camera has a built in light meter!

Thanks Darren. Haven't gotten around to slide film yet, most of my shooting is done during the evening so I'm using a lot of Tri-X. If I ever get a sunny day off that is what I want to shoot. But I'm really happy with this Portra.
